The conf folder is for other files, and the lib is for Executable Jar files. Once you have your Shimeji folder open, you will see six files- "conf", "img", and "lib" which are folders two files named Shimeji, and a text document (sometimes). Her file name is Shimeji_Wales.Īfter your see the folder, you may copy (I am unsure if moving it corrupts the file, this is just to be safe) it to a Shimeji folder if you wish, which is just something downloaders make to hold all of their Shimeji folders in one place. For example, the shimeji you see in the preview image climbing on the window is my Hetalia OC for Wales. The folder will usually be named Shimeji_character name here. It then shows you the extracing process then opens your Documents. It opens my documents, and I click "Unzip" at the bottom right. Right click the entire folder and select "Extract". ZIP, then WinZip will appear onscreen with the Shimeji file.
I only have the trial, so it will most likely end soon, but that's alright.

You can download the free evaluation trial if you like, or buy it. It's pretty safe, but can get kind of annoying sometimes. Before I downloaded any Shimeji's, I installed something wierd called WinZip, which is a program for extracting files. I'd like to hear and questions you may have, and though I'm not a Shimeji expert, I'll try to help out in any way I can~ If this doesn't work for you, I'm really sorry :c We might be using a different type of computer, internet browser, etc. This is what works for me, since my computer's pretty old and doesn't like to make things work. I once downloaded a shimeji and whatever I tried wouldn't work, and it turned out I was only clicking one wrong thing! Now you'll have little mascots running around your monitor.This is meant to help people who have had trouble running Shimeji's. Hopefully it will be clear to you which one you're supposed to choose.)Ħ)Select the shimeji folder you created earlierįrom this point on you won't need WinRAR/7zip and you can close out of those windows.Ģ)Open the folder that has the same name as what you had previously downloaded.ģ)In the downloaded shimeji folder, click on the folder labled "img"Ĥ)Select the pictures you want (If you don't select all of the shimeji images, not including small icons that might be in the folder, the shimeji might not work)ħ)Go back to the place I directed you to in step 1 of part 4ġ0)Create a new folder and name it "(name of your character)" or something along those linesġ4)Go back to the place I sent you to in step 8 of part 4ġ5)Open the file "shimeji-ee.exe" there will be an icon with a face peaking out of a computer monitorġ6) Check the shimeji you want and uncheck the shimeji you don't want This is the part where you download your desired shimeji.Ģ)In your files, right click on your highlighted shimeji fileĤ)Click once on the second file (In some cases it won't be the second file but the third or fourth file.
